SpamPal for Windows is a mail classification program that can help separate your spam from the mail you really want to read.

SpamPal sits between your email program and your mailbox, checking your email as you retrieve it. Any email messages that SpamPal considers to be spam will be "tagged" with a special header; you simply configure your email client to filter anything with this header into a separate folder and your spam won't be mixed up with the rest of your email anymore!

SpamPal is free software; you can download and install it entirely free-of-charge - the fully-featured version of SpamPal can be downloaded and used without imposition or restriction!

SpamPal does not work with: AOL/Hotmail/Yahoo/Juno/MSN/any other proprietary mail system.

Current Versions:
Release: 1.594 (24-Oct-2005)
  • 1.594 contains an important bugfix for those who have more than one 'countries' blacklist selected - you may have noticed that since I updated the 'master' list of available blacklists last month, only the first 'country' blacklist you chose would be queried. With 1.594, this bug has been fixed and all country blacklists you select will be used by SpamPal.
  • Also, 1.594 uses the latest version of the ZLib compression library - several anti-spyware applications were (wrongly) identifying the old zlib.dll we used to use as a trojan and removing it, so hopefully the new version will solve this problem.
  • Oh, and I've also included a new Danish translation as well. Thanks to Henrik Metzger for his work on this.
  • Users of SpamPal v1.591 or earlier should consider upgrading to this version. For those using a later beta-release of SpamPal, an updated beta will be released later tonight

SpamPal v1.73g BETA Released

The latest SpamPal beta-release is now available from the beta-releases downloads page http://www.spampal.org/beta.html - this is the version that's been available from the Beta-releases forum of www.spampalforums.org for the last few weeks with relatively few reported problems.

The main bugs fixed are in the transparent proxy, in particular the bugs that were causing Thunderbird to crash a lot. If you're having problems with the SpamPal transparent proxy, I suggest upgrading to this version.

Also, for those using SpamPal as a Windows service, this version should fix the issue where it would occaisionally start looking for its configuration data in another folder.

Those using a beta-release of SpamPal, such as 1.72x or 1.73c, are advised to upgrade to this version. Those using the latest release build v1.594 should not upgrade to 1.73g unless you want to experiment with the new features.

As ever, I must remind people that SpamPal v1.73g is a beta-release and may still contain bugs. Please don't install SpamPal v1.73g unless you understand this and feel confident facing the risks that may come with using beta-releases of software.
